Spyder,

first of all, my tinfoils aren't real tinfoils (b. schwanenfeldi); they're red tailed tinfoils (b. altus).
They're fully grown now, at app. 8-9".
Real tinfoils can grow to 17". You can tell the difference by the color of the fins; b.S. has black "swords" in the tail; b.A. has a plain orange tail. Also, b.A. has a grey dorsal fin, whereas b. S. has a black tip.

I keep mine in a specially decorated 152 gal., with some other fish from the same biotope (b. lateristriga, flying fox, spotted algea eater).
The tank is certainly not stocked, to give them enough room to swim.

I didn't think about ponds, that's pretty cool though.

Theresa, how big is your tank with the 20 neons.

I have 13 cardinals in a 46g with 7 rummynoses, 2 rams, 2 angels, and about 8 bottom feeders.

I want to increase my cardinal school, but although my two big angels don't bother the cardinals, I seem to have reached my max based on the balance in the tank. I probably will move my angels out and increase card school to hopefully 30.

My biggest ever was 22 barbs (13 green, 9 black ruby) in my 120.
If I ever decide to go for a more docile setup with this tank I would put a larger school of a small fish in there...

A shoal of eight Corydoras elegans is my largest group of fish. My largest actual school is seven lemon tetras.

I have 2 schools of fish, so to sayBut, neither are comprised of just 1 fish, so here we go:
School 1:
22 Neon Tetras
2 Empire Tetras
6 Glow Light Tetras
6 Harlequin Rasboras
2 Male Guppies
~~yes, this sill mix up of fish all school together, and on occassion there are 6 mollies who join them, and of course Lucky the Betta hurds them. I don't think they realize they should be in different schools

School 2:
7 Albino Corries
6 Schwartzi Corries
5 Green Aeneus Corries
1 Skunk Cory
8 Adult metae Corries
??? Fry/Juvenile metaes
8 Habrosus Corries
~~these little guys are so silly and all over the flipping place, and apparently the metaes are quite happy in their home as I can't keep up with the fry they keep making meCan't figure out why I don't see fry from the others:%)
