Alright, any day now I can start up my 55 gallon tank...so, I'm making sure this stocking list will be ok, though I am open for suggestions on maybe tweaking the stock list a little
So here we go...

2 Angelfish
15 Flame Tetras
4 Bolivian Rams (or 2 Blue rams and 2 Bolivians)
10 Panda Cory's
1 or 2 BN plecos

Any changes I should make? Suggestions for additions or substitutions?

Thanks

If you want two BNs try to get a pair. This might cost more as you will be able to tell the difference easy as they get older.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

Sounds good then, I'll get started on it saturday. I'm probably going to get black angels and try for a pair of BN...how old til BN can be sexed and if they are both male would they show agression?

Thanks

Nothing serious; a bit of chasing and maybe a torn fin or two. They can be sexed pretty early on; at least 2", I'd say, to be safe.

The only potential issue I can see is the Rams prefer higher temps (27C or higher) while the Panda corys prefer lower temps (24C). But it depends on how the Panda corys are brought up. If they are used to higher temps, this may not be an issue. The Pandas may just not be as active at the higher temps. With my Rams I keep corys that prefer higher temps like Sterbai & Caudimaculatus. The most commonly available corys like Peppered, Albino & Bronze corys also shouldn't have any problems adapting to higher temps since almost all of them are tank raised.

I have kept Bolivian Rams and Panda cory's together without any issue before so I am not too worried about that.

Thanks for all the help guys, I hope I can at least get SOMETHING in the tank by next weekend. (gonna try bio-spira)

Oh, and Noodles, could you explain how to sex them? Thanks

Males have bristles, females don't (or at least have very little), at it's simplest.

I myself would suggest not going with both species of rams, just the Bolivians. It will make things simpler and eliminate some interspecies compatibility problems. I believe also that German rams prefer the highest temperatures of all the fish on your list, so you won't have to worry about that by cutting them out.

Did you change your mind on coming up my way for fish?

Yeah, Nick I did. I found a pet store near here that has quite a few unusual fish, and they get them in quite often, plus I don't tihnk my parents will drive me up there to go get some fish -_-, ahh well at least I'm startin' up my tank

So it'll be...

2 Black Angels (pair)
4 Bolvian Rams (hopefully 2 pairs)
15 Flame Tetras
10 Panda Cory's
2 BN's (hopefully pair)

Thanks for the help
