PH parameters, lifespan, general behavior about each species. This truely is the most informative site on the net. FreeBlaze ![]() |

barthog1![]() Fingerling Posts: 38 Kudos: 44 Votes: 25 Registered: 16-Apr-2005 ![]() | Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys. I am just trying to get a feel for how old some of the fish I find in the shops are given the varying sizes you find. I'd hate to buy a fully grown BN for instance and have it die of old age a month later. Apart from blowing the money, I tend to get attached to the little fellas.... |

You could always ask the LFS owner how he got the fish (if someone brought it in, it mostlikely is older) |

Example being the bristlenose pleco that has no lifespan listed. I've tried searching up the lifespan of some fish but have had no luck. You can try looking at closely related fish to get an idea how long the one you want will live. |

Breeders and such can't keep fish for too long; the way to make money is to keep your products moving out as quickly as possible. With good care you should be able to enjoy most species of fish for at least a year or two (starting the count from Annual Killifish), although many species of fish will live quite a bit longer. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
