Currently I have 5 tanks set up 10 gal, 10 gal, 20gal long, 29 gal and 55 gal. I want to consolidate (take down the 10s for now), rearrange and restock and need some suggestions. (I also have a 100 gal which I am going to set up later in the summer)

this is currently what I have for livestock

10 gal female betta
10 gal male betta
20 long 6 penquin tetra, a common pleco(4 inch) and 2 male guppies
29 6-7 tiger barbs, 1 small (3inch) oscar
55 12 cories, gold gourami, 1 cherry barb, african brown knife

This is what I was thinking for now:

55gal tiger barbs (increasing the school) ,pleco, oscar and the brown knife (I know it isnt ideal having him with the barbs but he is impossible to catch)
20 penquin tetras, guppies, female betta, cherry barb, cories, sorting out the odd species and splitting them with the 29 gal
29 cories see above and gourami
the male betta can go into a spare 2.5 gal I have

long term, the oscar and the pleco are going into the 100 gal (I knew when I bought them I would have space)

does anyone have any suggestions to fill in the holes (the 29 is defintataly going to need something else as is the 20)

OK I'm willing to give ideas on redoing a tankof course I still haven't moved everyone where I want to so, heck give someone else the work to do on their's is better than doing my own

I'm beginning with the 29 gallon:
How calm is your gourami? If he/she's fairly calm I'm thinking you'll have several options
I'd be sure to have about 8-10 or so corries on the bottom, keep in mind the more the merrier as far as they are concerned:%) I'd add a nice school of Harlequin Rasboras (8-12). And a school of Neon Tetras or Cardinals (8-12). That would fill the tank and keep things quite busy. I know in the 125 my harlies and neons school together, so if they did the same for you it would be a good size school, and you could probably drop the schools to as low as 6 of either or both of them...

Now for the 20 gallon:I'm actually having fun with this
I'd add more of the cherry barbs to the tank so that that one isn't lonely...and make sure that you have at least 6 corries in that tank...otherwise i think it will be fine

55 gallon:
With a large enough school of tiger barbs that tank should be fine, for now I don't know for sure but could you mix green barbs with the tiger barbs? It might make an interesting contrast

Hope some of this helps, good luck and have funheidi
