By "Mexican walking fish", do you mean the axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)?

Thanks for that.

It is an interesting page and has told me straight away that I can't have one. THe temp around here is usually above 18 degrees so they would not survive too well.

Oh well and also they are prefered to be in the tank by themselves.

Rast, I have 2 in Sydney, and other than occasionally icing them down over summer, they do fine

I had two when i was about 11, the Idiot ]:| at the LFS didnt give my dad the right information and the poor buggers died after 3 weeks, i was well gutted :#(

There was no internet to speak of back then so I couldnt check information like a can now...funny that, if sites like this had been around then they may have been OK.

They are cool animals, if you get one check out their info.

They are in two separate tanks because Pluto decided to eat B's legs off. They have grown back now, but she is still missing the tips of toes on 3 feet.

^^ that is B's tank

This is Pluto. He was going to go to Melbourne, but I couldn't arrange a courier over summer, so he is still with me.
I'll get a pic of his tank/box later

I'll take some more for you

(I have tried to move this to Oddities, but the thread is broken, so it is staying here it seems )
