Ok I have my community in my 75g but I want a big cichlid. Since I cant have one in my 55g I want to move my 75g community to the 55g. Would this be ok in my 55g.

3 festivum
8 diamond tetras
7 lemon tetras

Hi greenmonkey...

If I'm looking at things righti might not be, you should be fine putting those in a 55...

Just be sure to keep up on the water changes and keep up the filtration...

So what kind of cichlid do you want in the 75?

I have AC 500 on the 55g is that enough. Im thinking about getting either a jaguar cichlid or an oscar but Im looking around at some other big CA cichlids.

On the 55 I would go with at least an additional powerhead with prefilter. The 500 is rated for 50 gals if I am not mistaken. Either way the extra powerhead cant hurt anything. As for load, you are well withing stocking limits for a 55 gal tank. With regard to the sa cichlids, may I suggest green terrors. These fish have tons of personality and arent nearly as agressive as oscars or jaguars. If you are looking for a more agressive fish maybe a dempsy would work for you, again, not nearly as rowdy as an oscar or jaguar but more agressive than a green terror.

ur community will most certainly ok in the 55....its actually under stocked..which is gud... and as for ur new to be 75g cichlid tank...u may want to reconsider on the oscar...a minimum requirement for oscar is 55g...and if it grows really big...75g will do just fine...but thats it..u cant put anything else except for bottom dwellers.
