i posted a thread last week about helping my girlfriends parents with their tank.
http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/54070.html

thanks for the help on that one - problem is now they have decided on having new carpets so the tank has to be moved (in three weeks). and as they are also planning on moving to france later in the year they have decided not to put the tank back together.
They have asked me to to dimantal the tank and rehome the fish.
i would like to keep some of the fish as i've seen them grow and even bred some of them. but i have no room for another tank.

tank to be moved, 3 platies, 8 neons, and four corys.
my 40g, 1 angelfish, 6 neon rainbows, 8 rasbora, 7 corys, 2 ottos and 1 clown pleco.
my 20g, 3 swordtails, 2 platies, 1 guppy. 1 fry.
My mother 15g - 2 dwarf gourami and 6 rasbora.

i was thinking the neons in mothers 15g as she wanted some anyway. but the others i'm unsure what to do??
could ask my mother see if she want another setup, or could take fish to lfs, if no other way. i really want to keep the 2 cory sterbai, the other 2 i think are peppered corys.

cheers shekoi.

Two free sterbai? What a catch !(sorry for the bad pun)

Anywho, if you think you have enough room, you could keep the 2 "pepper" corys in your 40g. They will be happier under your care versus gambling their lives at the LFS. They would most likely school with your other corys and give you a little variety in the pack.

Depending on your gender ratio of platies, you might be able to fit the remaining platies (or at least a favorite or two) in the 20 g. You would have to add more filtration and/or do more frequent water changes, but as long as everyone seems comfortable with the space arrangements, you should be fine. If you have some room for more plants, that may ease aggression. Thriving live plants may even lighten your nitrate load.

Perhaps you can find a home for them in the display tank of an LFS or museum? A local fish club may help you find a good home for them.

cheers for the idea, i would be happier housing them myself then risking them at the lfs.

i'll put the corys in my 40g, i'll just do an extra water change a week around 10%? to help the water quality.
40g - 1 angel, 7 cory juilli, 2 cory sterbai and 2 pepper corys, 8 rasbora, 6 rainbows, 2 ottos and a clown pleco.
Wow thats a lot, i'll have to keep eye on it all.

20g- planted heavily anyway. 3 swords (1M, 2F), 3 platies (3F), 1 guppy. should i put couple corys in here???

15g - 2 dwarf gourami (m&F), 6 rasbora and 8 neons.

hows that, i then only have to take a male platy and few fry to the lfs.
