Hi,

As I've mentioned on this thread (http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Cichlid%20Central/63375.html?200508240739) my pair of Bolivan Rams have laid eggs last night. They haven't even been in the tank for a week yet and since I thought I had 2 males, I'm completely unprepared for this event! I've never had cichlids before, nor has any of the fish I've kept breed before.

Any tips for those of you who've had success breeding Bolivian Rams? Do I just let nature runs its course and see what happens? And if the eggs do hatch in a few days, what should I prepare for the frys? I haven't seen microworms in the local LFS's for a while, so I doubt they have them. Can I use frozen BBS and/or daphnia from the start? I also have some Sera microgranules and Sera tablets that can be easily crushed in very fine powder (for my dwarf corys). But I'm not sure how and how much to feed the food, since the frys will probably be stay inside the bogwood cave (where the eggs & mum Ram are now). Basically I just want to be prepared, just in case they hatch.

Thanks in advance!

-P

In case anyone's interested, I started a breeding journal for my Bolivian Rams here:

It sounds like they're doing well. The parents are doing a good job, and everything you posted is normal ram breeding behavior.

You are making me jealous though.

I'm jealous too, good luck with your fry, and an interesting breeding journal.
