Hey all I have a 55 gallon community tank up and coming and still have questions on fish i would like to get.

Currently I have

1 Common Pleco
5 Guppies (2 Male / 3 Female)
3 Balloon Mollies (1 Male / 2 Female)
5 Harlequins
5 Glass Cats (just picked up 4 today)

I would like to add 3-5 More Harlequins and 1-2 more glass cats as they become available at the lfs.

Now i would also like to add 2 schools of tetras or barbs as follows

Neons or Cardinals (leaning towards cardinals but haven't seen any in the 3 months since I set up my tank)

Lemon Tetras or Gold Barbs

Maybe Serepae Tetras? (do these get too big?)

Tiger barbs (too nippy? am i asking for trouble with these?)

I would also like to add a few gouramis? not sure which kind though

would all these add up to overstocking?

keep in mind i don't want all those tetras just 2 schools of 8-10 i would like a school of yellowish (hence the Lemon Tetras or Gold Barbs) and a school of red/blue (hence the Neons/Cardinals or Serepae Tetras) any other fish that i am missing with those colors?

Thanks for any help!

after you fill out your existing school of harliquens, there really isnt going to be any room for another school. your pleco will grow to 18 inches, and have a HIGH bioload. the guppies and mollies will reproduce faster than bunnies.
If you want more fish, look for a bigger (4-6 in) centerpiece fish that will help with population control. An angelfish or blue/opaline/gold gourami would work for that, and can be found in the colorsheme you wanted.

Dumb Pleco...

Me and the wife (mostly the wife) have grown too attached to the thing to get rid of him... Oh well i guess in a few years i'll just have to upgrade again to a bigger tank

Lost a glass cat overnight . I was hoping that adding more glass cats would perk up my existing one but so far it hasn't... guess he was alone for too long... all he does is hang out by the filter all day long.

have all the glass cats been eating? That is the problem I have run into with glass cats. It's often hard to get them to eat, especially flakes, pellets... anything not fresh.

I watched them close the first few days and they were eating, I don't watch them all the time though. Its hard to keep track of who is eating what.
