Hello! I have an 80 gallon tank and decided to go freshwater with it. I would really like some ideas on what I should put in it.
I would like a large group of schooling fish
One or two large center fish
other then that I am open to suggestions.
I really like Tinfoil barbs but I dont know if they would do well in my tank due to size.
Thanks!

i think tin foil barbs would get too big for an 80. red/blue columbian tetras look really good in a school of a dozen or so. as for the bigger fish, angels? discus?

OH TOLEEDY!

tinfoil will be too big, a good center fish would be two golden serverns, and schools of cardinals/ emperor tetras.

I would go with 2/3 Angels, 2 schools of Tetras & a school of Corydoras.

How big should I make my school of tetra? I really like the idea of having 2 angelfish and the two schools of tetra and the school of corys.

You can go with 2 schools of 8/10 Tetra's (according to body shape) & get 8 Corydoras.

a school of rainbows could work, you need to think if there is anything you would really like as your centerpiece and if your ater conditions are suitable work out your stocking to suit and compliment your centerpiece.
its worth taking your time to do research and look at different photos and preferably live examples of different species before committing to anything.

I think I would really like a pair of angelfish as my centerpeice fish. We have a place called world of fish here and so I will be going there just to look at the fish and see what I like.

have a good look, see what you like and dont be frightend to ask questions, im you need to take notes of possible ideas you come up with and discuss them again on here in more detail, there is always someone arround to give advise when asked.

Yes, it's better to look & ask, before you buy anything. Post your questions here & be sure to recieve lots of answers & ideas.
