Hello. I have a 46 gal tank and this is what I am thinking of putting in it. Any imput is greatly appreciated!

1x Butterfly Fish
3x Angelfish (they like to school)
1x Small Jellybean Parotfish (the one I is about penny-sized and exstreamly cute)
5x Tetras or Barbs (Not sure what kind- but I want them to be very colorful)
3x young Clown Loaches (No more than 2" when I purchase them, and I know they can get very large, I dont plan on keeping them in a 46 gal for there entire life)

1) Would these choices work?
2) Can you recomend a nice tetra or barb school that is large enough so that they wont get eaten, but small enough where they wont over crowd the tank? I saw one kind at a store (forgot the name...sounded like Surpee, had the body shape of a high-fin black tetra but had very colorful markings like an african chilid)

Any help on this is gratley appreciated!

Inky

Your tank will be full with 3 Angels & the school of Tetra's. Clown Loaches need a bigger tank for them to grow.

Ink : I do not want to sound harsh or nothing of the sort but you already started 2 threads about this tank. On your second thread, we all replied to you and it sounded that you had made your choice. Why do you feel the need to start another thread about the same topic already thoroughly discussed?

I answered your other post, but I will answer again.

3x Angelfish (they like to school)
I have never heard the word "school" used with angelfish. It is best to keep them by themselves or get 3 and wait until they pair off. I also think 3 would be too much for your 46g because they get pretty tall and would take up alot of space. So I would only recommend getting one. Like I said in your other post, I have one in my 55g and she is perfectly happy by herself.

If the tetras you saw were red, then it could have been Serpaes. They are very nippy and would shred your angels fins. So no to them.

If you are thinking about barbs, don't get tiger barbs. They are also very nippy and would love your angels fins.
I would get a kind of tetras, as there are more choices for peaceful, schooling types.

By butterfly fish do you mean African Butterfly Fish? I don't know much about them except that they will eat fish small enough to fit in their mouths. I have heard that they are pretty boring and only stay at the top of the aquarium. They need plants to hide in and are pretty drably colored. Maybe someone else has more info about these guys.

Sponge is right, you don't need to post several times about the same tank. You can just add to your posts if you have different ideas or lists you want people to comment on. I think this general freshwater thread is the best place to post about a stocklist and other general questions. IMO people seem to respond quicker. Good luck with your tank.
