Was wandering through the LCPS and saw a few new products, thought I'd share, as they seemed sort of interesting.

Of course, this wouldn't be for those who prefer live plants, but I thought this was a nifty development in plastic plants... [link=plants]http://www.tetra-fish.com/catalog/category.aspx?id=81" style="COLOR: #00A0AE[/link] that disconnect from their base and can snap right into [link=decorative bases]http://www.tetra-fish.com/catalog/category.aspx?id=837" style="COLOR: #00A0AE[/link].

Again, not for the person who wants a lot of power in their filtration, but these actually look quite realistic, and I thought these [link=decorative filters]http://www.tetra-fish.com/catalog/category.aspx?id=835" style="COLOR: #00A0AE[/link] were spiffy. Basically Tetra's internal filters shoved inside a decorative cubby hole. *shrugs*

Just thought I'd share... thought they were kind of cool.

Well I think it is a very good idea for the non-planted folsk. I would nve buy it myself but I agree it is a very nice improvement for covering up internal filters and the like.

as for the plant plug-ins I like the concept except none of the plastic plant offered naturally grows out of wood so ...yah.

Nice find Kitten.

I think the decorative filter covers are sweet... just wish they sold it minus the filter. I LIKE my filters, but it would be cool to slip something like that over the intakes...

Hmmm, the plant base things are a good idea, except that I think the manufacturer kind of screwed up. If I were them I'd have made it so that you could plug 4, 5 or 6 plants into one base, space the holes closer together, but not symmetrically. That way one can get a nice natural, densely planted look without having to worry about the individual bases of the plants bumping into eachother. As it is, there's only room for 3 plants, which isn't that great IMO.

And Megil, what you said is true, but maybe one could get around that by burying the "wood" under the substrate...rendering the new puchase invisable, but I guess it would still serve its purpose

The filters are a neat idea... I know my yo-yo loaches would find a way to get themselves caught up in the thing or killed :%)... but neat idea nonetheless

I saw those a couple of weeks ago and was tempted to buy one of the internal filters for my 20L.

Those are awesome Kitten I too saw the "new filters" at petsmart a couple of weeks ago and thought that they were rather cool I'll have to go and take a closer look at the plants, might be nice for some add in on that 125:%)

I have a Tetra Whisper interal filter on my 10 gallon and my 30 gallon, I wish there was a way to retro fit them with a "wood" cover instead of having to buy a new one, but those are pretty cool!! /:'

Saw 'em at Petsmart. I really liked the looks, but not the price tag. Also they seemed to take up a lot of space in the tank. I think in a 10g it would be overpowering.

We got these products in stock the other day. The plants were okay, but I don't much care for the filters. For one thing, they really do cost quite a bit. I think the larger (twenty-nine gallon filter) was about $60. I really don't like the size of the filter and housing, either. They reach the top of the fish tank and will stick out of the water some, and are quite wide and deep as well. Not really my thing.

The WaterWonder Plants are fantastic! I have a bunch of them in my 55g tank. They look and feel very realistic. The fish also don't get cut up while swimming through the plants like they do with other brands of fake plastic plants.

OUCH, I just seen these at petsmart (the cheapest around here) and for the 10 gallon pump stuffed inside of this thing it was 70 bucks!!!!!! It also says its good for a 20 gallon.....weird seeing how on every other box they have that filter it claims was for a 10 gallon]

Good idea but the price tag SUCKS!!

heheh Maybe one day fish products will do down in price
