Thursday![]() Fingerling Posts: 46 Kudos: 32 Votes: 4 Registered: 15-Jan-2006 ![]() | I just got 3 guppies and a Afriacan Dwarf Frog. So I have 3 questions. 1) Is it a African Dwarf frog if it grows to be 2.5 inches long? (Not african clawed) 2) It is'nt eating. I have given it a pase-like blood worm stuff, but it doesn't even try to eat it. It ignores it and will eventually move off. The guppies then eat it. 3) When The guppies have fry (I have 2 F and 1 M) will the ADF eat some? If pets are so stupid, how did they weasel free room and board out of us? |

(ACF)Clawed frogs can hit about 8" with a big enough tank. But most ones you see will be babies that are only 1-2". The easiest way to tell if your frog is a dwarf or a clawed is to look at its hands. If they are webbed - ADF, if they are not - ACF. Also, ADFs are much skinnier around the waist while ACFs are just plain pudgy. And ACF's eye's are on the top of its head while ADFs eyes are on the sides. 2) If you want the frog to eat, you really need to feed it frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms, chopped earthworms, or live bloodworms. These are the only things frogs will regard as food. The issue with keeping fish with ADFs is that the fish are much better at getting food. So you'll wind up with fat fish and dead frogs. 3) The ADF might snag the odd guppy baby, but, in truth, the parents will eat more of their young than the frogs. My ADFs have enough trouble finding dead food, I can't imagine them catching moving prey. ![]() Last edited by djtj at 16-Jan-2006 19:11 |
