I have never had killies before, but someone gave me a pair as a gift. I made a yarn mop and tossed it in the tank, I've fed frozen brine, flafes, and mysis, but I can't figure out how to get them to lay eggs, and how to tell if they're getting ready. The male will display at the female, but I want to 'help' things along. AI'm all ears. |

It is also possible that they or other fish in the tank are eating the eggs and/or fry. What temperature is the tank at? Below 20dgC I find they stop laying eggs (and growing for that matter). How long have you had them? As long as they are well fed and the water quality is half decent it should just be a matter of time. This is what spawing should look like. These are my gardneri laying eggs in the gravel. http://au.geocities.com/namezmud_au/fish/gardneri.html Dean Last edited by abob at 07-Aug-2005 02:02 |
