Wasn't sure where to put this, but I'll ask away!

I was always under the impression that any nitrites at all (1-2 ppm) could be lethal to fish, and at a stretch, 10 ppm would be definitely lethal.

Yet, on the quiz, (which threw me for a loop) the correct answer is that nitrites aren't lethal until they're over 20ppm.

So, is the quiz right, have I just heard wrong, or what? :%)

The quiz is right. But what normally happens is the fish die from being exposed to ammonia. They are far gone before the nitrites get over 20ppm.
