Okay I have now went from three stores in my city to two today due to the fact I went there and there making new tanks.....
Wanna know what they are?

There freakin mailboxes for goldfish!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even worse the measurements are....get ready....12 inch's long 4and a half inchs wide and 6 inchs hight!!!!!!!

The one they have on showcase has FOUR YES FOUR fancy tail goldfish!!


The LFS has got new owners in the past month, and lets say that at least 5 of my fish keeping friends are not going there supporting them or anything anymore, on top of that you walk in there and it looks like a jelly bean factory, I found ONLY 5 fish that were not dyed in there new setup!!!

I am so sad that one of my fav LFS's are doing this and there trying to make it into a company on the internet.

Never again will I support them!!!

I will also post there name of the internet store when it is running!!!!!!

I also forgot to add were in Canada with small living rate of pond fish in our area, let alone a poor fish in a tin and glass box!!!!

As always it is amazing what people will do in the name of profit. Hopefully the consumers will speak with their wallets in your area and they either won't stay in business long or will have to change their ways.]]

My friends and I all complained at the store thats only 6 people in total though, that I know that keep fish.

Yes, profit speaks louder than sanity, compassion, logic, or understanding] .
I don't think the SPCA cares if it's not fuzzy, but it might be worth the effort.
Continually insist that the store sell them as betta tanks. Contact local media. Go in there daily and complain.
There's a LFS 5 minutes from my house, but I refuse to go there and instead drive quite a ways, just because I didnt' like the looks of their tanks.

1 gallon of fish per inch of tank

wow, yea a lot of the lfs's are just in it for money, I went to mine and asked if they had anything to diffuse co2 in the water, then the lady asked me what co2 was. I told her it was a gas that plants breathe, and she said "oh, we don't carry that brand"....

I don't think that posting the webpage of the store would be a great idea. There has been a case of users on an online forum sued by an internet supplier in America. I don't think you'd want to go through that kind of thing, so better be cautious.

ya its called slander and comes with a hefty fine. it is possible to put down a store with out it being slander but at the moment it slips my mind.

Yeah once i called a store to see if they carried Bio-spira, and the lady asked what was it was for. I said it was for the biological cyle, then she asked me what brand of filter it was for. I said it is not for a filter. Then she said well we don't cary that. LOL!, she was really stupid.

I dunno thats like the spca pressing charges because I complained about the care of the puppies, I honestly think people have there own choice to use this store or not just giving heads up.

Maybe I wont post the addy, they still have to make a living, not with my help for sure!!!!!!

I also went back and complained a few more times

Maybe instead of "slandering" them I'll just complain non-stop


Thats horrible, I think people should know about it!!!!

I cant imagine why anyone would want any of those fish. Even though it is torture to the animals they aren't THAT attractive after the dye job. I think the only people who would be attracted to that kind of fish would be an 5 yr old. My LFS who always had a reputable reputation last year went the way of buying Dyed fish. They had probably 30 tanks with these fish in them. My 4 yr old said " Da Da these fish dont look right.." She then went and picked out her African Butterfly which by far isnt attractive LOL.
