does anyone know the name of a fish that always lays at the bottom of the tank? i got it for free of a guy and i would like to know it's name

Can you describe it a bit more? Size, color, shape would help. The guy didnt call it by anything? Can you call or speak to him and find out what the name of the fish is? You really should of found out about the fish before taking it.

its about 2 inches long its got fins on its stomach all along, blue tail blue fins dark colored body, its swims wierd like its fins arent moving exept his tail, a little pointy nose, nice fish, thats all i can say really, it lays at the bottom alot exept for when i feed him, i have 2 swordtails and 2 black ruby barbs 1 redtail black shark and a blue gourmi in my tank right now, i just cant fighure out this ones name

It sounds like it may be some kind of loach perhaps, they are fond of laying on the bottom. Try looking at the profiles section of this site to see if you can find it.

The fins on the bottom, it is one long fin? may be a knife fish? Kind of hard to say. A very detailed description would help, a photo would be better if possible
