My 55 gallon tank is currently stocked with 6 zebra danios, 3 khuli loaches, and a golden apple snail. What else should I get? I think I'll be getting a few more danios, another schooling fish, some centerpeice fish(need suggestions) and maybe others. thanks for your input.

dispizeme,

What else can you tell us about the 55 (planted, filtration, ph, etc.)? You have tons of options on what you can do, limited only by the size of some species and water parameters.

The one thing I would suggest is not to increase the school of your danios. I think you will find them to be boring quickly (that’s what happened to me and a few others here).

My tank has a few plastic plants and I'm not sure what kind of filter it has, I'd take a picture but i can't find batteries for my camera. If i got more danios I'd only get a few more, a total of possibly ten.

I'd suggest some small corydoras catfish for the bottom section, and a trio of congo tetras as another mid swimming slightly larger centerpiece fish

you could put some small caves in there and get some peaceful cichlids like rams or kribs... i think yellow electrics are pretty peaceful too, but don't quote me on that... for some caves you might try some driftwood, rocks, flowerpot turned over onto its side... you've got a pretty good looking roster right now... potential to be an awesome fish tank.

i saw that in another post people said not to add kribs... i personally think that'd be ok as long as you add 1, or 2 of the same sex, etc... you don't really want them to breed because THAT's when they get nasty... also, if you do end up getting krib(s), go for the females, unlike most other fish, they're the prettiest.

they're a territorial fish, if someone comes into their territory they'll chase them away, but unlike some other cichlids, they won't follow them or attack them... they just like to have their own place.
