Iv had my silver ds over a year and Iv never seen them fight but just now 2 of them were going at it. Biting and ramming and getting all crazy. At first I was laphing but then I saw some silver scales falling from them and I got a little worried. What can you tell me?

That sounds pretty crazy. I have never kept them but if I had to take a guess might they be breading or wanting to do so? Some more info from you like how many you have and what size tank and fish you have would help some people out.

If not breeding maybe their outgrowing their tank.

They are not big enough to have out grown the tank. They(3 of them) are about 3.5" and the tank is 40g but the tank is over crouded because I am moving and I had to put my fish from an other tank in with them. That could be the problem but this is very strange because the last few days all of the fish have been very active and happy. The sd have been out playing in the filter current insted if hiding. They all seem to like thier new friends. If not wouldnt the sd take it out on the "new to the tank" fish insted of each other. Thats why Im hopeing its a normal breeding thing. There have been a few other changes too. The tank that I just emptied was a planted tank so I took some plants from there and put them in the 40g, I added some airation, and added lights for the plants. All these things would make the fish more happy. They are even breathing easier. Its been about a week and they just started fighting an hour ago.
