| PROTECTING A TANK FROM FUMES | |

If so just remove all the fish and as much water as possible and place the water and fish into plactic containers. Do this as far as possible away from the room as possible. I would do a bit more resarch on that pesticide, double check how long it stays in all the furniture, floor coverings etc. There are plenty of pesticides around that are not as dangerous as that. No fumes will get between the water line & the top cover of the tank & so they wouldn't get into the water. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Unless you go out and by like, twenty feet of airline tubing and extend the air pump to the next room... ![]() ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

If it is practical to lower the water line, do so - allowing more atmospheric air, or the fish can suffocate otherwise. Then saran wrap the tank like said. If it is possible to set up a small tank, do so, and move the fish to that tank in another room. Turning on pumps/filters other than canisters can bring the fumes into the water. |

I think it's better to leave the air pump going. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
