Well i have moved out of home, and moved down to the 'gong. That is Wollongong, which is south of Sydney and 8'ish hours drive from home. My Mum is in charge of my shishies while i am away. But they have plans on renovating the house, so they are going to be moving my fish tanks out of my ex-bedroom and into the TV room thingy they are making.

Seeing as they will be moving it, and i will insist on them moving it when i am there, i would like them to change the stocking of the tank. To something a little bit easier to maintain. I was thinking of changing it from a community tank to a SA cichlid tank. Maybe two medium sized cichlids and my Boesmani Rainbows (as my dad likes them) with the Corys i got, and Bristlenose.

Do you think it is a wise idea to trade in most of my fish, and start anew?

The current fish in the tank are...

2 Angels, 4 Boesmani Rainbows, 6 Rummynose Tetras, 1 Bristlenose, 3 Bronze Corys and 3 Swordtails.

I was thinking maybe a Convict Cichlid and Severum, or something... I don't know. Suggestions? Oh and also get a few more Bronze Corys.

EDIT: Forgot to add that the tank in question is 53 gallons and i will be stripping my 10 gallon down, and taking it home with me back to Wollongong. So i got some fish friends to keep me company at campus.

Any suggestions on what to keep in there? I was thinking maybe a Betta?

a betta in the ten would be awesome! but that's my opinion, he'd have plenty of room to swim...

In my 55 I love my mbuna cichlids...and they make a nice tank,

Personally I'd leave the large tank with its current community. Is it particularly difficult to maintain for the parents? I think it would be the least hassle and confusion if you just stuck to the fish that are in there.

BTW, I hope you enjoy Wollongong. I went down there on the train from Sydney and toured the Uni campus a few years ago - I actually considered moving there at one stage!

If you ever need rain in the gong, let me know, it ALWAYS rains when i go south!

If you want a specific betta let me know come down and check out your new pad

I suppose it is up to my parents what they want to do with the tank, as they will be looking after it. I will talk it over with them when they move the rest of my stuff down. My Mum sounded like she wanted to keep the community as it is when i talked to her on the phone, so yeah. Their final decision.

Oh Abs, i have already thought about asking you into helping me select out a Betta. When the time comes.

The Sev is a good idea, but what ever you do. Do "not" put a convict in with the rest of that stock.

Your cories would be goners for sure.
