I know some loaches eat snails but they leave the shells alone.

My cherry barbs are eating pond snails (shells too). Would they have problems digesting it?

If the shells are soft there should be no problem at all. All you can do is wait and see what happens I thought if they would eat the shells if was no good for them.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

if the snails are small/soft enough for the cherries to eat themn you should have no problem. he calcuim in the shells will disolve in the stomach and either be absorbed or pass through the system. they shouldnt hurt at all.
