Pictus catfish and groumi's, molly's and platies. Would the pictus catfish tolerate the molly's and platies, and regular groumi's

Toleration is not the issue. The pictus cats will likely think they're likeable enough to eat, if anything. As Pimelodids they're pretty good predators with wide mouths and elastic stomachs. However, there should probably be no problems with actual aggression.

Dont LB actually require a slightly different water conditions to Pictus. The Pictus would love them especially if you have breeding pairs in the tank. If it fits into their big mouths they will eat it.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.

I had one and they were fine together. I believe the issue comes from salt desires. My catfish could not tolerate any kind of salt in quantities whereas the mollies just love the stuff (not to mention it seems to keep them much more healthy). I have not been in the hobby long though and my catfish did not last too long so you can take my thoughts with a grain of aquarium salt
