angeleel![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 561 Kudos: 472 Votes: 61 Registered: 08-Feb-2005 ![]() | Well like it says planning major overhaul, This is my plan I don't know if it will work or look good. Any help or comments welcome! I plan on taking my Oscars out of my 29 Gallon, and moving them into my new 100 Gallon when it gets here, then I'd like to take my angelfish and a few feeder guppys and put them in the 29 Gallon. I'm going to leave my community 56 Gallon alone but with aquascape changes. Then I'd like to go out and find my beautiful angelfish a hubby to breed them, I have a spare 10 gallon, and was thinking that would do for fry. Now my tanks are not planted at all besides fake plants =p BUT I will be adding some java fern to my oscar tank on a large rock going to be used for a centerpeice or conerpeice. I'd like to get my Oscar tank looking more...um...natural, any tips or hints welcome!!!!! I'd also like for my all of my tanks to have more of a "wow" affect. I'm not to sure how to do this, Change the gravel?? Change to only one kind of plant, better lights, and better backgrounds. What is your suggestion,to make it look more stunning???? Keep in mind I only have two local petstores I don't have a huge selection to choose from, DIY projects are in my mind as well I was thinking about doing something along the lines of these...... http://www.petfish.net/PVC_cave_tower_instuctions.htm My question about those is the play sand, is that safe to use??? If not i'll use regular tank rocks and glue them on. Oh another thing does anyone know how I could find fake plants over 10" long? My 29 gallon is very very tall and it looks stupid with the plants only extending 3/4 of the way up the tank, if that.Could I silicone plastic plants together? Would it stick? I know real ones would be better but I don't think I'm ready from any real plants except jave fern, not the best for taking care of plants, I am with houseplants but thats a diffrent story. Anyways If you could give some ideas as how to do any of these..please help me ![]() Thanks Angel Eel |

Cut them right in half and file them, or at any angles? Have you tryed this(I think this is what you mean by cory hotel) and does it look good? The brand called Aquascapers has plants up to 15 inches tall, and then there's jumbo aquascapers which are 23-25" tall. I see the brand all over here. If your fish stores don't carry it, try places like Walmart. I've actually found some really tall plants at Walmart, even though they have a somewhat limited selection. *shrugs* ~Meow. If you want to make sure they're secure, you could attach them with silicone (aquarium safe, of course!) and let them cure for the proscribed amount of time before adding the structure to your tank. I've used single pots as caves and also a broken pot (edges filed down), which my cories love to hide under. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

If I run into any problems I will add again to this post =p |
