So I picked up a pair of them. I have had them for about 3 weeks now, and the male has really colored up nice, and the female has become quite plump. They are a young pair, I would say 3/4 full size, they seem vigourous and the male shows plenty of interest in the female. I currently have my 10g tank on the verge of being empty again as my baby guppies are almost large enough to move to the 25g growout tank. So I have decided to try breeding my dwarf gouramis. I need to know now by people experience/ general knowledge, what these fish require in the ways of water conditions, feeding, and general ideas of how to go about it. The tank is 10g, temp 80F, ph 7.6 gh around 280ppm- but I have plenty of peat so I could lower ph if necessary with peat. The tank is heavily planted, and has only a slow water flow in the tank. It is filtered with an aquaclear mini. Only tank residents up gourami entry will be: 1 Hillstream Loach, 1 Singapore Wood Shrimp, 1 BN Pleco, lots of small ramshorn snails and 1 blue apple snail.
