I have a beautiful bright yellow 3" Yellow Lab cichlid and want to put him in a community tanks full with tetras and a pair of altums angels. Would this work out peacefully?

IMHO I really don't think it would. Although yellow labs are peaceful as far as the cichlid world goes they are still a bit too much for the community mix.

Yellow Labs are quite peaceful with other Cichlids, but i don't recommend them in a community tank.

I have to agree with the others. It simply would not be a good thing to do. Yellow labs thou considered to be peaceful when compared to the temperament of other cichlids,it is still considered to be semi-aggressive when compared to other standard community fish. So it probably just isn't going to be a wise thing to do.

I had a yellow lab and he seem to be fine with the other fish in my tank red tail shark, and gouramis but I when added an angel fish the lab went crazy. Within the next few days the angel fish had no fins, the yellow lab was always chasing the angel. In the end the lab had to be removed from the tank.

A good rule is to not mix african and american cichlids. though there is a couple exceptions.
