I noticed on my tank (the inside) that there is some kind of whitish and brownish maybe green growth on it. Is that algae? Just wondering.

Hard to say without a more accurate decsription. A pic would be of great use too, if possible.
What does the growth look like? Is it hairy? mossy? kinda hard and crusty? grainy? where exactly is it? what is it growing on? Is the tank in a vrey well lit area?

jodecii,
WE need a better description to give you a proper answer. Tell us what diverdan asked you and we can give you a good answer. My only guess is its algae. but im not shure. (remember im not posotive and it was a guess so dont go out and buy some algae killer and then find out its not algae)

if you can give us a pic that would be better then a description. There is a lot of websites thatll host your pictures you can find some under the forum "photo booth" they have a list of site under one of the top topics. The name is something like "how to show us your pictures" or something along those lines

What ever you do dont add any chemicals to remove it as many of those so called algae removers can actually kill fish, it will kill most scaleless fish, and others after they have eaten the dead algae.

Certainly a photo will help also if you can collect some take it to you LFS and see if they can tell you what it is. But on no acount buy any algae remover. Find out what it is first then ask more questions.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Hi-
Well I am thinking I have brown algae because it is a newly setup tank. There is also like white little dots that move with the water im the tank. It is hard to describe. Now, any suggestions on algae eaters. I have three cories. It is a 29g tank. The stuff I am noticing on my tank class is also gathering on my air pump tube!!!
