Morning (UK) guys,

cleaning out a uneaten Alae wafer from the bottom and I spotted some sort of red worm wiggling around eating the wafer. What is it, is it harmfull to my fishes ?
Tryed to Gravel Vac it, but seems to have disaapeared.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Leon

I once discovered a worm with that discription. Bright red the colour of a bloodworm. It was about 3cm (About 1" long and about 1mm wide. I took it to my LFS and they said it was harmless.

Sounds to me like nematodes. They live in the gravel off left overs and are harmless. Large numbers of nematodes are a sign of overfeeding.
