Due to bad advise from his lfs my dad has 2 rtbs in his 70g tank and there is far too much aggression between them.
last night he asked me if i wanted one to solve the problem.
i like the fish and would happily take him/her but can i put a rtbs in any of my tanks? (see my profile for current stocking).

any advise appreciated asap. thanks

Hi,

the other two tanks arent really big enough for a RTBS I am afraid. The Minimum I have heard of is 20USG, but you ideally need bigger than that as they get 4-6 inches and are V territorial.

I mainly agree, try and get a cave in the tank for each of them. If the aggressive is still going, then you may be able to get away with one in the empty 15 gallon.

Don't think the solution is moving him to your tanks. You may have to see if you just can't return one of them to the local lfs for a credit.

if it is still a young it should be ok in your big tank make sure it has a cave in there

I think he would be fine in your 70gallon as longs as you have a few good hiding spots. Otherwise you may want to return him if it isnt what your looking for.

Oh, I thought that was the tank that they were in. If not then difinitely it could go in there.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info

As you can see I have more than on RTBS in my tank but and a big but It is heavly planted, many caves, and plenty of space to call their own. Mine are not aggresive towards each other or any other fish at all.

keith that link doesnt work.
dads tank is pretty sparse, only a few rockis in the middle and a couple of plants at 1 end.
mine has quite a lot of bogwood and is heavily planted at one end and lightly planted at the other, lots of places to beout of site and adding a true cave rarther than just the rocks with holes wouldnt be difficult.
there is a pic on my profile but its a bit out of date, it has matured a lot since than and the planting is much denser
