A red tailed black shark and a bristlenose pleco? Yeah, they're compatible. Just make sure you have a large enough tank, what were you planning to put them in? As long as the tank is at least ninety liters or so, and not overstocked, there shouldn't be trouble.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Well Sirb,

80 Litres, I know what everyones gonna say, oooh you cant have a RTB shark in that size tank, but he is only 2 1/2 Inchs long at the moment and I am getting a bigger tank in 6 mnths. Although some people i have chatted to say 20 gal is the minimum. The plec is about 4inches. They seem OK at present RTB shark is having a good look but swims off if the pleco moves

Um, I see you've already heard some of the statements regarding the tank requirements for the RTS, but (upon conversion) I'd recommend at least 120 Liter tank (at the VERY minimum). While RTS don't get terribly large (mine's about 6-7", they are VERY territorial fish that need a larger territory than what you've currently got him residing in...

I completely understand that you'll be getting a larger tank in 6 months, but in that time, that RTS will grow to about 4 inches in length and will begin to havea ggressive territorial actions. He most likely won't bother the BN, but he will grow stir-crazy with such a small amount of swimming room for him to patrol...

Also, make sure he's got at least one cave so that he can set up his "base of operations". The more caves, the better...
