Hi all,
I just wanted to rave a bit about this new fish store I checked out today. It was called "All Creatures Great and Small", and is located in Victoria, BC.
It is a 14,000 sq ft paradise for the pet lover, and half that space is fish!
In that store, I saw some of the most beautiful fish I have ever seen, and some of the rarest critters I have seen! They had over 30 different types of tetra alone!
They had discus in every shade of the rainbow just about, enough types of goldfish to make any pond jealous, and shrimps, oh so many freshwater and saltwater shrimps! Rudolph Shrimp, Ghost Shrimp, Chameleon Shrimp, Cherry Shrimp, Banded Coral Shrimp, Peppermint Shrimp, and a really cute little blue and white striped shrimp that had no name listed!
They had Surinam Toads, Pythons, Spiders, Scorpions, Stick Insects, not to mention Hermit Crabs galore, frogs a plenty, a plethora of reptiles, as well as the usual birds, puppies (locally bred), and pocket pets.
It was a beautiful experience. I could have spent hours and hours in that store!
On another note, I also visited "Safari Pets", and they had the absolutely most amazing reef tank on display that I have ever seen. It was 85G tall tank, had brilliant iridescent anemones complete with true perculas, a cute little blenny with eyelashes , a beautiful brown tang of some type, royal gramma pair, a flame angel, and a couple others I couldnt identify. The corals were gorgeous, the sea fans waving, the mushroom mushy, and the beautiful green coral?brain? looking thingy that jiggled. I loved it!! Gosh it was amazing!
Next time I go back I will take my camera and share pics with you guys! You wouldnt believe some of the tanks in these two stores on display. Something for everyone. For our tiger barb lovers, there was a tiger only tank - 90 gallons of tiger fun! 30 greens 30 normals, and 30 albinos, all racing round like jet engines.
There was a planted neon tank- 75g tall tank planted with amazonian river plants, neons, cardinals, and harlequin rasbora. Fabulous!
And for Pleco lovers...I have never seen so many plecos in one LFS before! Clown plecos, rhino pleco, sailfin plecos, yellowseam plecos, medusa plecos, peppermint plecos, gold nugget plecos, common plecos, green phantom plecos, candystripe plecos, and advertised on one tank but not existant (0bviously sold),ZEBRA PLECOS!!!!(only 295 dollars False Zebra Plecos!! Queen Arabesque Plecos, and some L# that was written up at a price of $475 EXTREMELY RARE with SOLD beside it. Wish I coulda seen that guy before he got sold.
Anyway, it was awesome, and for anyone who plans to visit beautiful Victoria BC, plan to check out those stores and plan to have time to browse, you wont be disappointed.

Pete, sounds awesome, wish I lived closer so I could spend hours looking at all the creatures in those shops. I look forward to some pics, thanks for sharing your thoughts on a good shop.

Hmmmm, sounds like it may become a tourist trap, lol. I know I'd make sure to pop in if I was in the neighborhood

Where are these stores at? I live in NW washington, so getting to Victoria Bc would be like a day trip for me. When my ship went there, i mostly spent my time downtown and went to the royal museum, didnt know they had a really nice aquarium store there. Im on the USS Abraham Lincoln and we where there like 8 months ago. Loved it up there very pretty and well kept city.

Sounds, like a couple of great stores. Sure wish we could get something like that around here. Victoria is a beautiful city as I was there about 3 years ago and want to go back again. Will definitely place this on my places to visit when I do.
