Well time has come to finally re-stock my tank. Its 265ish litres so about 70 gallons. And here is what it has so far.

43 neon tetras
1 angel fish
1 golden algae eater
1 BN

What i want to add perhaps.

6 or 7 kuhli loaches
1 Red tail shark
or 2 rams or some description

Unfortunatly i think im getting close to being fully stocked.

Whats everyones oppinion, im no good at stocking limits

Thanks

Matt

Wow, 43 Neons......... is your tank planted?.
I think that you can add 6 Khuli Loaches & 2 Rams without problems.

Personally I'd skip the golden algae eater. They're not very good algae eaters to begin with, and when they get larger (full size is about 30cm) they become aggressive. They will also feed off the slime coat of other fish. Not good! :N0) Instead of a golden CAE, how about another small species pleco or some otocinclus?

The only other *possible* problems I see are the angel and the shark. Angels feed on neon tetras in the wild, though I've seen people keep them together, no problem. The tendancy seems to be that the smaller the angel when added to the tank, the greater chance of success. RTBS are just as well known for being terrors as they are for being peaceful. Again, I think you'll have a greater chance of success if you intoduce a small RTBS to your tank, rather than a full sized adult. Make sure the shark has a cave to call his own, too.

HTH!

I actually have preety much all the same fish as you, but i have cories instead of loaches, i have 10 tetras and 3 angels (2 female 1 male) a baby RTBS, and gournamis, juvenile albino BN and all is good in the 75G, the RTBS actually swims with the tetras most of the time.

Well ive had the GAE for a good 3 years now, ive grown attached to him and theres been no dramas as of late.

The tank is well planted, and the neons look awesome.

So is the concensus 2 rams 6 kuhlis and the RTBS would ok then??

Thanks all

Matt

I would say so, but you can add another 2 Rams & drop the RTBS.
