If anyone has any other ideas that include 2 bristel nose then I am happy to read them. Thanks! |

You can have 1, but that's pushing it even. You'd have to keep up on your maintenence since plecos add so much to the bioload. Other than that your stock sounds fine as is, with an addition of maybe a couple more b neons, a couple cherry barbs, smaller rasboras (like brilliants), pencilfish, another small school of small tetras (like glolites), or rainbows (threadfins or celebese). In a 10 gallon another school of tetras! That would be way overstocking! |

The problem isn't that they will cause trouble, it is that they are waste machines. Two bristlenose plecs working in tandem can quickly foul up a small tank such as yours, and adversely affect the water quality. It is in the best interests of your fish that you remove one BN. I know that they are super-awesome, but you don't want them to die, right? I also agree in that another school of tetras (or like fish) would be okay, after you move a BN. They don't have much impact on the water quality, and are nice to look at. Two schools of tetras can be quite a beautiful sight, a fact that my lemons and cardinals can attest to. ![]() |
