I will be taking the fish out and putting in a big bucket with an air stone in it while I empty the four footer out and move it then put the rocks and then water in the new tank. My question is 1 - should I syphon the old tank water into the new one??? 1a- use some of the old water in the new tank? 2 - syphon the water onto the new tank filter sponge to get some bacteria in it? 3 - not bother and just use water ager?? Any help would be good. Best way other ways or other suggestions??? |

This is the option I would use, plus run the new set up for at least 24 hrs to clear the water. I would also add some new bacteria, and a anti stress product before I added the fish to their new home. While the fish are in their temp home dont feed and do a minium water change. Also for the first 12 hrs in new tank dont feed and keep the light off. All this will help them to settle in very easly with out any problems. Well that is what I would do, others migh have a diferent ideas. Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. So I will be taking the fish out of the four footer and putting them in a bucket. However I am unable to leave the tank for 12 hours thats all. As I can;t leave them in the bucket as there isn't much room there. So empty the water onto the new filter matter and away we go. Putting some stress coat stuff in the tank as well or just in the bucket??? As well as butting more bacteria in the tank. |
