Hey,

My cousin has been in the hospital for a while(currently home on a visit though). and he will be there for a few weeks(bleeding in the brain).

He has a 29 gallon tank that he's been wanting to setup for a while. and i'd like to set it up as a suprise for when he comes home to stay.

I found his list of fish that he wanted, and they are'nt really compatable.

Convict cichlid
Kenyi cichlid
Moonlight Gourami
Poweder blue gouramis
Serpae tetras
Rainbow shark
Blue crayfish

----

Now as i said above, they arent quite compatable.

My thoughts were to remove the crayfish and cichlids and replace with either more tetra's or some small barb's of some sort.

Anyone have any ideas/thoughts towards this issue?

-Carl

whereabouts in the US are you? first, [link=check here]http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/about.html" style="COLOR: #FF8080[/link] and see if any of these lfs are close to you. the reason for this is to see if there's an lfs close to you that receives fish from Jeff Rapps (not sure if you're familiar with the name but he's one of the best sources for top quality, hard to find cichlids). if there is one close to you, I'd try to get some [link=Honduran Red Points]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/honduranredpoint.xml" style="COLOR: #FF8080[/link]. Honduran red points are a close relative of the convict cichlid, only they're much more colorful, don't grow as large and not as aggressive as a regular con. you could setup the tank with a small group of hondurans and keep the serpae tetras. once the hondurans paired off your cousin could sell all but a pair and they should still live fine in a 29 with the tetras and a bristlenose pleco.

Hey,

I was really trying to steer away from the cichlids, as i've never been good with cichlids, and i've got to keep the tank going until he is to where he can deal with them.

Any more ideas?
