I have a 10 gallon that I have some small rainbows in, and for some reason, lately i've been into continental biotopes, so I want this tank to be an Aus tank. So what, besides threadfin rainbows and any rainbow, can fit in a 10 gallon and is from australia?

Blue eyes and gobies are about the only things that I can think of that would make nice aquarium fish.

I wouldn't put galaxias in a tank with rainbow's as galaxias are cold water fish.

True blue eyes are rainbow's but they don't look it fools some of the people some of the time.

Depends on who you talk to, as many Aussie Rainbow conisoures, consider the blue eyes to be called "Hardy Heads" and do not include them as Rainbows. I beleive though, that the larger consession is that they are all in the Rainbow family.

Galaxias can be found in all water temperatures.

I've collected them in water as cool as 2'c and as high as 35'c.

Blue Eyes - are these members of the Genus Pseudomugil perchance?

If so, then there's a taxonomic headache awaiting you.

Most popular Rainbows used to be in the Atherinidae, but some taxonomists put them in their own family, the Melanotaeniidae. Pseduomugil belongs in the Atherinidae. But, they're all considered to be 'Rainbows' in the hobby, because [1] they're brilliantly coloured as adults, and [2] despite size differences, tend to have similar requirements.

Wow. That is an impressive Rainbowfish site. Time to update the taxonomic database yet again ...

I would go with a gobie.

Such as the desert gobie like you may have seen at Acidrains.
