| Snail Eating Fish | |

Both the rams and the tetras would probably be stretching it a bit, I think. |

The snail eggs must have been on the plants when i got it, but there is a BIG outbreak now and i can't keep picking them out by hand anymore. Thankyou for previous help. (I also plan on adding Black neon tetras, Ottos, and Albino Bronze Corydoras. I can change this but i am going to my LFS again on Saturday) |

Granted it takes a few years... or so I am told, but they get BIG! How big is your tank? What other fish do you have in the tank? That might help with suggestions. Christina |

robbanp![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 367 Kudos: 808 Votes: 205 Registered: 08-Sep-2003 ![]() | The one you want is Botia sidthimunki , also known as Dwarf botia or Chained loach and a number of other common names. It is a small (~5-7 cm) peaceful but active, schooling loach that will empty most any medium sized tank from snails within a matter of days and when the snails are all gone they will remain the favorites of your tank. The downside is that they are rather hard to find and can cost their weight in gold. P.S. Welcome to Fishprofiles, if you're serious about learning to care for your fish this is the ultimate place to ask questions. Hope you'll stick around for a long time, if nothing else your fish will be better of if you do . D.S.Last edited by robbanp at 18-Jan-2006 12:30 |
