How many do you think I should get for the 10G-45Lt tank. Which variety can I use. They will be going into the 5ft tank when the job is done and a very good chance they will become a pictus meal.

You just want a very few fish to cycle a tank, two, no more than three. You want a hardy, inexpensive fish. White clouds are lauded as the favorite for cycling, and zebra danios will do the job, too.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

If you already have an established tank, why do you need to cycle the tank with fish you plan to use as feeders afterwards?

Why not use old water, a few cups of substrate and some filter media from the established tank to seed the tank?

To start of with it is a totally different. I also want to start off with all new water which at the moment is resting for a week before I add it to the tank.

Hi

Three zebra danios would be fine

They are as tough as old boots

Found three of them trapped in my filter - they had been in the dark, little or no food, veryy little swimming space, between a sponge and the pump for THREE weeks - they till doing fine after being rescued

:%)

regards dave
