Firemouth Cichlids...How Manny???? common Plecos........How manny???? Iridescent Shark.....Maybe 1?????? Is there any other fish i can keep in the 55 gallon tank? Any sugestions??? Thank you...... |
bettachris![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 ![]() | what kind of reasearch did u do? maybe the info u got was mixed, common plecos dont fit in a 55 gallon, and ID sharks dont fit either, both of these are for big tanks, 100+. from my experiense my ID shark was stunt and 20 inches long. and in a way small tank, many problems. also common plecos can get huge and are not for small tanks like that. in a 55, with a firemouth, you can go with 2 moonbeam gourami, 3 hoplo cats, and a glass catfish school. |

Common plecs grow about 16 inches and ID sharks get about 45 inches +. They are monsters. As for the Firemouths, they only get around 6 or 7 inches. You would probably be fine with a pair of them.
