I would suggest only 1 angel as they need their space. What you want to add would be good but do maybe only 6 harlequins and then add 3 more cories.

Unfortunately I would not recommend keeping angels in a regular 20G tank. The tank is not tall enough for a grown angel to stretch it's fins out and have some space to move. I would suggest you try to find a pair of keyholes or maybe a pair of blue rams.

I would also fill out the cory group a bit more, because they do better in larger groups - say 6 at least.

I like to understock my tanks a bit, but I think these would be acceptable stocking lists:

2 keyholes
or
2 blue rams
6-8 Corys
1 clown pleco

or

7 harlequins
7 corys
1 clown pleco

i am not going to get rid of or move my angels because my LFS said that they would be fine in my tank so i am not going to worry about them. but how can you tell if they are experiencing growth problems from the small tank???

the LFS also said that 3 cories would be fine by themselves, like that is the minimum amount in a school.

out of keyholes and blue rams which is the most active and has a fun personality. i would want a fish that is fun to watch and not timid when you walk up to tank.

a fish that is overall just really the best fish you ever owned and fun to have.

what are the pros and cons of each???

and does anybody have any other suggestions???

"i am not going to get rid of or move my angels because my LFS said that they would be fine in my tank so i am not going to worry about them. but how can you tell if they are experiencing growth problems from the small tank???"

LFS's have a reputation for being intentionally misleading or just ignorant. A 20 gal is about 12 inches high and an angelfish gets 10 inches tall...theyll be dragging their fins just to get around(if they even make it that big). Besides if theyre going to be fine in that "small tank" why are you asking about stunting?

"the LFS also said that 3 cories would be fine by themselves, like that is the minimum amount in a school."

Ive never had cories, but most every cory owner here says six is minimum(as it is for other schooling fish) and that their cories became much more active when their school was uped to 6.

If you want this in your tank:

of what i have i would like to only have
2 angelfish
1 bandit cory
1 clown pleco

i would like then to add:
2 bandit coprydoras
7-9 harlequins

Then your minimum would be a 29 gallon and i would add 4 more bandits.

[link=This]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Cichlid%20Central/58248.html" style="COLOR: #FFFF00[/link] is what is said about the minimum tank size for angels, and I agree with 20 tall being the BARE minimum - 29 is much better.

I think blue rams are adorable - very pretty fish. They will not hide from you, in fact they will swim right up to you after they get to know you. Here's a pic of one(who I regret to say didn't make the move to my new apartment):

I've never owned a keyhole, but I know they tend to be a little shy. If you want an outgoing fish I suggest a couple blue rams.

Do not put neon tetras in their unless you intend them to be snacks for the angels. I agree that you should find a way to get the angelfish out of the 20 gal because they can get 10" tall and 8" long. Look for something smaller like dwarf cichlids. I like Laetacara Curviceps, but blue rams would be great additions.
