Had to move a few fish around to do some serious matainance on a tank. Starting over.

I have a 36 gallon tank with the following fish

5 black ruby barbs
4 cherry barbs
8 golden barbs
1 rainbow shark

How is that for stock. room for some corys or call it good.

I'd say thats about it. golden barbs get like 3-4 inches so they'll take up a good part of the space i'm not sure about the black ruby barbs but I do know that cherry barbs stay small and are shy so they might not do well unless they are given good hiding space. the shark will outgrow the tank I believe, but you can consider that when the time comes.

I think you're ok, I wouldn't add any more though.

I'm also not 100% comfortable with the shark in there, but for now if you havent anywhere else for him it'll do.

If you did want to add more for the bottom, I'd suggest moving one of the schools to a different tank before building up any cory schools.

Yeah the Rainbow is still real small. I will keep an eye on it. I had one years ago and it fine till it got larger then it got frisky. I plan on moving the rainbow into my 48 gallon when I get it up an running again.
