Stocking a 55G | |
Sandy02 Enthusiast Posts: 174 Kudos: 123 Votes: 34 Registered: 11-Jan-2004 | It's a standard 55 Gallon, and I've already got: 1 Zig Zag Eel 2 Angelfish (tiny, 'bout 3/4 of an inch big, picking up 3 more tomorrow hoping for a breeding pair later down the line) I'm looking for 1 to 2 shoals to add, which do you think would be best? I am looking into a school of neons (not worried about when the angels get bigger, I'll be moving both schools when the Angels get to any decent size). |

I think they would look good with neons. Make sure the neons are pretty big when you get them. They eel might take out a few if they are small. Why are you moving the schools? If the neons are a good size and the angels are small when you add the neons, you shouldn't have any problems. Some people have had problems, but I think most people don't...if you have small angels. Usually its best to add the neons first, but you can't since you already have the angels. Just keep an eye on them. |

I would stick with the body shape of lemon tetras, black phantom tetras, black tetras, etc. etc... there are tons of options, pick yours!!!!/:' 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair) |

The columbian blue red tetra would be nice also. Several celebes rainbows, or dwarf rainbows would be pretty, also. |

They only get an inch...so if you buy them young, they could end up as eel food. Rainbows are a good suggestion. I have always wanted some...but they are very rare in my area. Go for rainbows! |
