Well I am making a few changes in my 32g and I wanted some opinions. My current stocking is in my profile, and yes I know the tank is overstocked and that is why I am getting rid of some fish. So what do you think I should do? I have a rough idea of what I want but I would like other opinions first.

Well id take out the clown loaches b/c they get huge. Id go with the following-1 angel
-6-7 neons
-6-7 black neons
-either 3 more ottos or get a BN
-6 danios ( what type are they? )
-6 cories

I know from our conversations that you are interested in keeping the clowns, so I think you can keep them until they get to about 3 inches, and then you can either trade them, get a bigger thank, or give them to a friend. That IMO should take about 2 years or so given their current size.

My suggestion is the following

6-7 schooling fish (you can keep your neons if you like, or a different type of tetra, or rasboras)
1 Angel, it would look nice as a centrepiece fish.
Keep the Ottos
Keep the clowns.

get 2 more cardinals and 1 more danio, if you can, get rid of the black neons (that is just what I would do)

If it were me I would have...

1 Angel
6 Cardinal Tetras
6 Cory's
3 Ottos
3 clown loaches until they are 3 inches (but I would never get clown loaches as my tanks are too small...)

I think I am going to get rid of the black neons. I want to add to the cardinals but I am worried about the angel eating them if they are small. Depending on what else i keep I may want to get rid of the danios. They are pearl danios which were used to cycle the tank. I currently have found a species of rainbowfish which i really like called the Furcata Rainbow (aka Forktail Rainbow, Forktail Blue-Eye Rainbow). I may want to get a few of those instead and maybe get rid of the angel. So many choices. :%)

eric, as for getting more cardinals, it would depend on the current size of the angel. But if he is still rather small, the cardinals should be fine, keeping in mind safety in numbers, usually applies. Don't get Neon Tetras, as they are the natural prey of angels in the wild, and thus would become lunchand you don't want that And if it were me I'd up the cardinals to 10 as well as the corriesheidi

I am even more confused. Well the angel is about 4 inches. And lets just say it shows some agression during feeding time. I recently just lost a cardinal but it may have been a different reason that it died. But lets just say the angel took the eye of the dead cardinal . Well as for the clown loaches. They will stay until they get too big for the tank. I will move them out when they hit 2 or 3 inches. They are doing a great job with the snails so far. The only snails that are left are the giant ones that they cannot eat yet. So I am going to up the cardinals to 10, get rid of the black neons and danios, the current cories and maybe replace all my schwartzi cories that died. And add a few more ottos to get the other 2 more active. So it will probably be:

1 angel
10 cardinals
3 clown loaches for now
Maybe 10 cories?
5 ottos

I dont know about that seems overstocked but it also seems empty to me. I was thinking of getting furcata rainbows, so I am still confused .

Another option i thought of..

10 cardinals (maybe more)
3 or 4 furcata rainbows (if i can find them)
3 clown loaches for now
5 ottos
And maybe something else when i move out the loaches.

I think i made up my mind. I can get rid of the danios and black neons, and get a bigger school of cardinal tetras. I am worried about my angel tho eating any new and small cardinals i would add so I would have to buy adult cardinals. So I could go with the following:

10 or more Cardinals
Keep the angel
Increase otto school to 5
Replace current cories and get 9 schwartzi cories?
Keep the clown loaches for a few more months and get a bigger tank (hopefully)

I kind of seems empty to me though.

Well once you get all those fish in it the tank it will look full. You could a a pearl gouramis if ya wanted too, or maybe another angel of the same size as the other one. And tes you would have to buy adult Cardinals. Also your stocking list sounds good to me.

I like your final stocking list Eric If you really think the tank looks empty, get a pearl gourami or something. They are very good looking, but thats as far as you can push it.

I just noticed that my last plan was all SA fish except for the clown loaches which are temporary anyways. I think I may go with that one.

So it will be
1 angel
10 or so cardinals
5 ottos
9 schwartzi cories
3 clown loaches for now

That would be pretty cool.

Ok I am finalizing what I want for my stocking. And I have decided on the stocking above. Could I either keep the black neons or get another school of tetras??
