- Bronze corys(6)
- BN's(2)
- Pearl Gouramis(2 or 3)

The tank is 38.?? according to the site calculators. Let's call it a 40g. From your list I'd stock it with:
6 harleys
6 corys OR 1, maybe 2 BN OR yoyo loaches
1 pearl gourami (centerpiece)
2 German blue rams
a school of cherry barbs (they're ok in pairs but i think they'd look good as a school)
giant danio cyclers

I wouldn't put all those bottom feeders in the tank, as it is not all that large and they may end up having to compete for food. Personally I'd use the danios for cycling then return them. They'd be crowded in a 40g tank with that stock. They're very active and need lots of swimming room. Also, feeder guppys or rosy red feeders are a good cheap way to cycle.

Unless you've got a reverse flow powerhead with that UGF, and no plans to ever plant it or use a sand substrate I wouldnt put the UGF in....but that just may be my intense dislike of them steming from the fact that I had to pull some out of a used tank I bought and it turned into a nightmare .

For cycling, I'd jump start it by running the filter on an established tank. If the 200 is too much for the 13 (and I have a feeling it would be ) just place the foam inserts in the established tank for 3-4 weeks while you're working out the stock ect of the new tank.

I would pick either corys or loaches as the bottom feeder and have a nice large school, rather than two smaller schools. Glancing over the list, I didnt see any that I'd consider cycle hardy, the giant danios would be your best bet. I'm with the suggestion of renting some zebras from your LFS to cycle with. You can also do fishless cycling with a sprinkle of fish food combined with the seeded filter I described earlier.

thanks for the replies.. with the aqua clear i'm useing 2 foam inserts .. so i'll let one sit in te 13 gal for a few weeks for now..

i'm not sure on a cycling fish.. i would like a fish that i can just leave in there.. i was thinking white clouds but they like a much colder water temp.. ne ideas of a school of fish that i can use to cycle and leave in the tank.. if not i might as well rent sum zebras..

I've heard (don't hold me accountable like some people do) that WCMM's can survive temps into the 90's *consults handy dandy site calculator* so in the 30's for you people.
Not quite sure I've seen them used for cycling though.

I think that if you seed your filter pads for 3-4 weeks on your established tank and start the new stock slowly with the hardier ones (go with the danios first) you should be okay .

White Clouds would be just fine. I have a large school of white clouds, they have cycled 3 tanks now, a 10, a 25, and a 90, and have happily lived at 76-80F for their entire lives. They were born at the pet store to parent fish kept in tropical tanks and never have been in cold water. A very adaptable fish, the white cloud is capable of adapting to most temperatures and water conditions. A great cycler, they are hardy and can withstand cycling conditions with ease. I have lost 2 over the past year, I think because of Old Age. (they were huge and pale like old fish gone gray )
I like your stock, I think the YoYos or Corys would be enough though. I would say this would work:
6-8 Harlequin Rasboras
6-8 White Cloud Mountain Minnows
2 BN Pleco (try to get a male and a female)
2 Rams - I recommend Bolivians, they are larger, easier to keep, and have so much personality! Dont worry on gender, even males are fine with each other.
1-2 Pearl Gouramis (try to get a male and a female or get just 1)
Cherry Barbs your choice or not, 2-4 would be fine, but if you choose some white clouds, you may choose to leave them out.
But for your bottom guys, because rams are also bottom feeders, and because BN eat so much, I would say go with a bunch of corys say 8-10 Bronze Corys
OR Go with 4-6 YoYo loaches. Remember Bronze Corys are a larger cory species, I have seen ones in excess of 4 inches. YOYO loaches are also a solid 4-5 inch fish. I would recommend one or the other, but not both. A 40g just doesnt have the space for 2 BN, 2 Rams, 6 corys and 4 yoyos. Pick what you like best. I reccomend the loaches. I am a huge loach fan, and find their behaviour and fun level is just sky high. Great fish, the epitomy of Lazyness though!
Good Luck Robey. Let us know what you decide.

You could add the 8 neons or cardinals. I would recommend cards cuz they are a tiny bit bigger and more colorful, but I love neons as well! (have 6)
I think your stocking list looks really good.
