Unfortunately, I am not having much luck at all with Panda Cories... Therefore, instead of continuing on with fish that aren't working out, I have decided to try and increase my school of Harlequin Rasboras since I have become extremely fond of the school I currently have.

I have a 20 gallon (tall) tank. All of my numbers are good. (Ammonia, Nitrite at zero, Nitrate between 25-30.)

My current tank load is a pair of Cherry Barbs, 5 Harlies and 3 Panda Cories...

I would like to increase my school of Harlies and/or maybe add another type of fish to the tank if possible.

I am running a TopFin 20 filter along with a Penguin Bio-Wheel 125.

How many Harlies could I add to my tank and have everyone still be comfortable and happy? Is it possible to add any other types of fish to the tank?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i think your problem with pandas are your numbers pandas should be kept in groups of around 8. If your sure about getting more harlie i would suggest about 12 if they and the cherry barbs are the only thing in the tank. I would also consider getting centerpiece fish like rams, keyholes ,apitsos . You could also get an algae eater like a BN to keep the plants clean.

Yes, I realize this and for the longest time I have been trying to keep them in a group of 8. There was 8 originally, but they kept dying, getting replaced, dying, getting replaced, etc. But at $8 a pop, I can't afford to keep doing that. I still have 3 of the very first 8 that I bought and they are doing wonderfully, so I'm not too worried about them. I don't know why the others died off, but my trio seems extremely happy and playful just as their small group.

I would definitely love to get a centerpiece fish... However, what would my maximum size for this fish be limited to?

I don't think I am in need of an algae eater at this time... I take all of my plants out once a month for a good cleaning, and to be honest, they never seem to have that much algae on them to begin with.

Thanks for the reply though... Anyone else feel like sharing their opinion?

I think you could up your harle's to 8, then you could add another small group of fish, or a centerpeice fish.

Heres some options:
8 Harles
2 cherrys
3 pandas
6 Beckford's pencilfish

Even, if you can't buy expensive panda friends, you should try add another species of cory that looks somewhat similar to them.

How about some Neon Tetras, would they work? If so, how many could I add to my tank?

they would work easily. And it depends on how many fish you increase your schools by and if you add some more fish (ie. neons AND rams). But I say 8 is a good number at your current list. They are very, very small.
