Stress Coat... How much to add to water? | |
neurotica1983 Hobbyist Posts: 67 Kudos: 77 Votes: 0 Registered: 03-Feb-2005 | I was looking at the label on my bottle of Stress Coat today and I saw that the directions state to add 5-10mL of the product per 10 gallons of water to help with stressed fish and to de-chlorinate the water. However, in doing water changes where you only need to add 2-3 gallons of water back to the tank, how much Stree Coat would you add to that water? Obviously you could do some kind of figuring with the numbers they give you per gallon, but that gets into very small amounts that would be rather difficult to measure. So, for 2 gallons of water, how much Stress Coat should I add? (I'm asking in assumption that it is possible to add too much Stress Coat and I certainly do not want to do that.) Thanks to anyone who can help! |

Since 1 teaspoon is good for 10G water change Then 1/2 teaspoon is good for 5G water change (what I do) extending that logic, 1/4 teaspoon is good for 2.5G water change...And, honestly - I would not worry about the .5 gallon... just use a 1/4 teaspoon full. These are common size measures. I appropriated a set from the kitchen that I use ONLY for the aquarium. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

Check each time if you change brands. I have just checked my new set of measuring spoons and there are imp and metric measures 0.5ml = 1/8 teaspoon 1.25ml = 1/4ts 2.5ml = 1/2ts 5ml = 1ts 7.5ml = 1/2 Table spoon 15ml = 1 Ts Again unless I am wrong there are several sizes in measuring spoons in various countries Therefore metric measurement is far more accurate and a standard measurement. I hope all this helps. Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I VOTE DO YOU if not WHY NOT? VOTE NOW VOTE NOW |
