This is in no way because I do not trust Tim C. (aka fallout member #79), nor should in anyway be considered a personal attack on his knowlege and opinions about tanks, stands, and their combine use thereof.

Heres the situation as it stands () currently.

Wooden stand from petsmart, not sure the brand figure it was topfin. Box was discarded months/years ago but I seem to remember it saying that it was for 55 gallon tanks.

Stand dimensions are
19" deep
49" long
28" high (I know that's not very important)
and the presswood is approx 1" thick.
1/2" curved edges in addition to above measurements

Currently has a 30 gallon on it (yes I know ...it looks funny ) I would like to upgrade it to a 75 gallon as it would fill in the stand much nicer.
Office space is on the 4th floor, not sure if a 75 will actually fit in the elevator. Wall it is against is an inside wall.

What does everyone think?

Put a damn 75 on it and quit worrying!! It's made for it. It will fit a 90g and even a 110XH... 75 wouldn't even faze it...

Sounds like it will be fine, Babel. Give it a go. What's the worse that could happen - a flood

GO FOR IT!!! of course do not, I repeat do not ask me to help carry that tank up the stairs cause guess what? I won't do it Go for it, it sounds similar to my stand and I can sit on minehold it that doesn't sound right go for it, it can take a lot more than it says, if it fits, then it will be fine And like was said before what is the worst it could do? Other than kill the fishies :#( goes off to ponder how deep it would be if the 75 sprung a leakof course something happening to the fishies would be the worst thing heidi michelle

you could take it up the fire escape that is if you dont mind walking and put wet clothes on the sides so it wont get scratched if you accidently scrape it. Or better still you could get movers to move it and if they get it scratched make them pay for a new one

May i suggest a suitable stocking suggestion
12 danios
6 albino corys
12 gold barbs
12 panda corys
10 ottos
1 bn
3 hopolo catfish
6 Dwarf gourmis Dif varietys
2 bigger gourmis (gold gourmis ect ect)
8 threadfin rainbows
8 diamond tetras
2 rams
2 festiums
1 rainbow shark

Heavily planted with
Java fern (windolve Spelling )
Horwart
Anudiabus (spelling)
Crypts
Tiger lotus
banana plant
lillys
hair grass
swords (of all sorts)
(At 2wpg with C02)

This is what i would do with a 75gal while keeping you old fish that where in the 30gal. I think this would be a truly awsome display :%). If some thing like this isnt to your taste just forget i said it or ill have to force you to forget with my hypnotic hyperactive powers

Edit: if the stand fitted in the elevator shouldnt the tank

Go for it, at least it's in an office and not your home

And an elevator? We had to carry mine-tank, stand, and everything else-up three flights of stairs

I actually think the elevators are bigger than the stairs not sure though cause I almost never take the elevator, only when I run into coworkers that don't like taking the stairs like I do :%).

I think Koi is right .

Looks like I might finally be able to get a decent sized tank now just to convince boss who after all started this whole fishkeeping thing .

No, for moving large fish-related goodies you need one of these (I didn't like it until I realized that benefit ):
