Hi!

I currently have a:

40 GAL
1 Female Blue Gourami
9 Peppered Corys

50 GAL
1 Male Blue Gourami
1 Baby BN Pleco
6 Albino Corys
6 Tiger Barbs

and I was wondering if they are overstocked/understocked or just fine. Both tanks are fully cycled with 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and about 5 nitrates.

I also have a 12 gal that I need stocking ideas for.

Your opinions would be appreciated

i would say your tanks are fine! sound very nice to

why don't you put your female in with your male gourami

then get new center piece fish for your 50g maybe an angel. just an idea.

for the 12g how about going with a shoal of tetras or i really like rasboras. and a dwarf gourami.

I would say that you could add some more fish to both of your tanks. Maybe some nice schooling fish such as neons or cardinals. I think I would also place the gourami's together also as long as they get along and then add a new center piece fish to the other tank.

Put the Gourami together in the 50Gal. tank & get some schooling Tetra's & an Angel for the 40Gal. There are alot of Tetra's to choose from & with brilliant colours.

id put the gouramis together in the 50 and add 6 more tigers

for the 40- an angel, and 8 bleeding hearts/red phantom tetras would look good, or 12 harliquen rasboras

Neither tanks are oversotcked, both very understocked.

Are the gouramis aggressive, be careful because male gouramis can kill the females. If they are peaceful I would put the gouramis in the 50g. In the 50g you could get like:
2 blue gouramis-male and female
2 bristle nose-you could add another
12 corys-add some more as they are a riot, either 6 albinos more or 6 others.
12 tiger barbs-add some more, they look good in big groups.

40g
9 peppered corys
1 angel-these are nice as a centerpiece
12 tetras or harlequin rasboras-not the nippy tetras though and not neons as they will be eaten.

12g
6 small corys
6 small tetras
Or
12 small tetras

Like any of these ideas?

Well I did have my gouramis together but I could not get them to stop having fry, which I didn't mind except the male was extremely protective and wouldn't let my cory's out of the plants. So I had to separate them so the cory's didn't get stressed.

Ok, well then leave them in the two different tanks and don't get the angel.

50gallon
1 blue gourami
2 bristle nose-you could add another
12 corys-add some more as they are a riot, either 6 albinos more or 6 others.
12 tiger barbs-add some more, they look good in big groups.

40g
9 peppered corys
1 blue gourami
12 tetras or harlequin rasboras

12g
6 small corys
6 small tetras
Or
10 small tetras
