Hello everyone,
I have a planted twenty gallon long. I was wondering how many tiger barbs you guys would recommend putting in. This tank will be strictly a tiger barb tank. I was thinking of trying about ten. Thanks

Id go with 6. They hit about 3 inches and can be very active. Lovely fish

I'll do graffiti,

6 is a pretty good number. Are we talking a 20 H or L? That might make a difference.

I must congratulate you on your fine choice of fish

Oddly, they do better in odd numbers, and never reach 3 inches, so i'd go with 7

Again, i applaud your perfect choice of fish

"never reach 3 inches"

Really? Ive seen some pretty darn big Tigers, though i do tend to overestimate fish sizes

Ive got a 2 and a half inch female, and shes the biggest ive seen, shes a blue/green colour variant , so possibly may have been selectively bred for a chunky size.and has a very deep body, she looks a bit like a fancy goldfish for build, but then she lays a lot of eggs.
Heres a photo for size comparison against an adult siamese flyer-(about 5 inches) shes a few inches in front of him so you can work out the size comparative.Shes getting on for 5 years old.
