The venerable Innes book has a photograph of one of these gizmos. I've wanted one since I was a teenager, yet I've never found one in any UK shops. Anyone tell me where I can find one?

I do believe he's referring to this:

http://www.aquatics-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/worm-feeder.jpg

I don't personally have one, and I've never found the need for them. Most of my fish are loricariids, and frozen bloodworms have the bad habit of floating. But a family friend uses these contraptions for discus feeding, and apparently, they're the best things to happen to plastic since disposable forks.

I'd wager either aquabid or foster/smith has them.

Interesting Cali. Never saw the bell on the string for feeding aquatic worms.

I do feed live black worms. The critters look similar to tubifex but are of a different genera without the nasties that infect tubifex.

I've used the funnel and everyone at each level of the tank seem to receive their fair share. The worms wiggle through the openings and gently cascade to the substrate. The gizmo is not necessary but it seems to keep the food in the water column a little longer.

It's a freeze dried tubifex feeder. Not for feeding live worms.

Been after one for what, 25 years? Tried adapting a budgie toy to do the same job but it didn't work out (sigh) ...

Looks like a really need contraption. I wouldn't mind one for feeding my fish tubiflex worms. I can never get those little squares to stick to the side of the aquarium.

I have a worm feeding cone

I use it every day, to feed my 75, then my 20, then my 29.

I use live blackworms, and it's amazing!

Instead of feeding a few, then waiting, feeding a few, wait etc etc.. i just pump a whole bunch in there and they eat it at their own pace Very handy It costs a whole 2 bucks, i'll mail ya one if ya want

how is the bell better than the cone? Do the worms magically stick to the top?

Here is a suggestion that may work - I haven't tried it, but it might work. Take a round tea seeping container attach a string and viola you have a feeding bell (ball). You may have to enlarge the holes slightly, but that should be easy enough with a small drill bit.

I remember seeing those feeding bells, but that was probablly 30 years ago when I first started keeping fish.
